Explosion Damages Gas Pipeline on Quetta Western Bypass, Urgent Repairs Needed

A gas pipeline on Quetta’s Western Bypass exploded, severely damaging the 18-inch diameter line. The blast disrupted local gas supply and caused concern among residents. Authorities have urged caution while emergency measures are put in place to prevent further incidents.

The General Manager of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) Balochistan said that officials will assess the damage after completing a security clearance. He emphasized that safety protocols are being followed carefully to ensure no additional accidents occur during inspection and repair.

SSGC officials noted that replacement pipes will be brought from Karachi to repair the damaged section. Residents have been advised to arrange alternative energy sources for the next one to two days, as gas supply will remain limited until the repair work is completed.
